Toseland takes WSB title for HANNspree Ten Kate - with a little help from Pi & Pectel

18 October 2007

Toseland’s return to winning ways came in July when both team principal Ronald Ten Kate and rider Toseland credited his return to the podium to the newly installed Pi Pectel electronics on the British rider’s Ten Kate Honda CBR 1000RR.

Ronald Ten Kate, team principal, said: "After Misano, we all understood that it was very important for us to get things back on track. We had two productive tests in Brno and Vallelunga, where we got the Pi system on the machine again for the electronic side of things. It paid off and we were competitive again. James said then that since switching to the Pectel system, the bike was transformed from a 6th position finish to a race winner – and now the championship winner”.

Toseland confirmed: “We had fallen behind on electronics, but we knew what the problems were and we sat down and figured out what we needed to do. Thanks to the team and the Pi people for helping us take this championship.”

Pi Research’s Justin Goddard supported the Ten Kate team with the integration of Pi’s data logging systems and Pectel’s SQ6M ECU.
