VI Grade and Pi Research to Develop Interface

17 March 2008

Closing the gap between simulation and testing

Today, Pi Research and VI-grade ( http://www.vigrade.com ) formalized an agreement to develop an interface between the data acquisition & analysis environment, Pi Toolbox, and the vehicle simulation programs including VI-CarRealTime, VI-SportsCar and VI-Aircraft.  This interface will allow VI-grade customers to export simulation data in Pi Research’s (PDS) format, and visualize results within one of the best known and most popular data analysis programs for motorsports which is also finding many new users in aerospace and automotive applications.

This capability will make it simpler to compare virtual and real dynamics results in Pi Toolbox.  This capability will also mark another productivity improvement for Design, Test and Track Engineers to speed up the development and the setup of their vehicles and get the most out of their simulations.

The direct interface is expected to be ready for distribution by end of May 2008, and will be license protected via a Pi hardware dongle. There will be no associated extra cost for the VI-grade customers with products under a current maintenance agreement.
